Irish philanthropist Denis O’Brien was recently presented with the 2011 WorldSafe Ledership Award by Safe America CEO Len Pagano in New York. Mr. O’Brien – who is Chairman of the global telecommunications, Digicel – was selected because of his philanthropic initiatives – most recently, which included the rebuilding of the Iron Market in Port au Prince, Haiti. Mr. O’Brien was thanked for giving a ‘fresh face to leadership and setting an example for others.’ Mr. O’Brien was invited to speak at an upcoming WorldSafe conference being planned for New Orleans in August. Reciprocally, he invited Mr. Pagano to bring to Haiti a delegation of senior executives – to see progress made since the 2010 earthquake.
