South Carolina First Gentleman Michael Haley has agreed to work with Safe America in support of its First Spouses Campaign. Mr. Haley, who is the husband of South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, spoke with me recently, offering his support of our BE Safe America preparedness campaign. Thanks to Lt. Haley – who is being deployed for active duty in Afghanistan in January – Safe America now has 10 First Spouses committed to supporting our grassroots resiliency effort. While National Preparedness Month ends this weekend, the dangers facing Americans – both weather-related and terrorist stimulated – remain high.

Safe America will continue its ‘March to 2 Million’ campaign, extending the preparedness drill season into November.

Plan now to participate in family and corporate practice drills. If you haven’t ‘pledged to drill,’ sign up now. You could be invited to a recognition luncheon for the Top 10 participants leading the nation toward grassroots resiliency.
