Foundation Kicks Off 2^nd Annual ‘Drill Down for Safety’ Season; Seeks 1 Million Participants

Atlanta, GA (September 1) – The Safe America Foundation kicked off its month-long ‘9/11 Drill Down for Safety’ national preparedness campaign today with a call for all Americans to conduct a personal emergency drill and practice how they would text family members to let them know they were “OK” in a post-disaster situation.

The 'key developments' include finalized plans for a multi-state 'drill

The Safe America Foundation is joining with corporate partners, community leaders and government agencies to be sure every American can practice being prepared. In our world of potential disasters, the greatest risk is not from the storm, the quake, the surge—or even an attack. The risk is each of us. March On to a Million.......

As hurricane season again approaches, disaster preparation is very much on our minds—especially those of us who live and work near the coastal regions of our country. Disasters can take many forms—earthquakes, floods, fires, tornadoes, snowstorms, even terrorist attacks, so preparation is important no matter where we live. As time passed after the terrorist attacks of 2001, we slipped into complacency.
